WebApr 4, 2012 · My local BMW independent, a known reliable shop whose owner participates in local CCA events (and isn't known for cheap prices) is quoting about $160-$170. To me, this sounds really inexpensive and I'm just wanted to check what others are paying. The is the first scheduled vehicle check. Car has 30k miles and is 5-1/2 years old.

Between depreciation and maintenance, I figure it costs an average of $4K to own an entry-level 3 series (E46). The first few years all of that is consumed by depreciation. At this point, the depreciation is close to 0.
