There's usually also a switch that forces the fan (s) on any time the A/C is turned on. S. WebAug 17, 2014 · The aux fan is suppose to turn on low with the ac button is pressed. But it is also supposed to turn on if the radiator temp switch hits 91 degrees celsius in low speed or if it hits 99 degrees celsius in high speed. If the fan is on because of the ac, it will only go to high if the temp gets to 99. You can test the aux fan by doing 2 things.

If you don't have a tool - then putting the AC on full should trigger the electric fan after a while as pressure builds in the AC system.
