These engines are two cylinder, horizontal, expansion engines, with the pistons in-line (single piston rod), and the valve chests driven from a single eccentric and valve rod as well. Would make an interesting model. WebMay 9, 2024 · The Potty Mill Engine I mentioned does not even need a vertical slide. It can all be done with lathe and drill press. The flat surface on the cylinder for the valve chest to attach to is faced off in the lathe with job held in four jaw chuck. Machining of bearing pedestals etc are also done in four jaw chuck.
